With the RuBee® brood stop grid frame, the queen is caged for 24 days in the summer after the second honey harvest and the colony is free to breed.
Removing residual mites with oxalic acid or lactic acid is now also possible.

  • A second option is to cage the queen from October to February to make the colonies brood-free during this time.
    This variant has the following advantages:
    - Bees hibernate and fly less
    - No brood so less varroa mites

    Due to the thickness of only 10 mm, there is no wild hole and the slope serves to allow the bee cluster to sit around the queen during the winter.
    Cages in winter should only be used on one-room colonies.

    The queen is released through an outlet at the top bar.
